Scott County Sheriff’s Office offers condolences after investigator’s death
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement offering condolences to the family of Investigator Andretta English, her husband and members of the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office following her death, the department said in a post on its Facebook page.
The statement praised English’s service, saying she “dedicated her life to serving others with honor, courage, and compassion” and that her “commitment to protecting her community and helping those in need reflects the very best of the law enforcement profession.”
The department asked the community to keep English’s loved ones, her law enforcement colleagues and all first responders affected by the tragedy in their thoughts and prayers, adding, “Rest easy, Investigator Andretta English. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service, dedication, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who wear the badge.”
The message was signed by Sheriff Mike Lee, Chief Deputy Brad Ellis and Public Information Officer Joshua Thames. Sheriff’s offices typically coordinate community policing, investigations and support for other agencies; statements of condolence are a common response when a law enforcement member dies.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
