Interns tour Governor’s Mansion in downtown Jackson

A Facebook post said interns from the organization’s account took a break this week to tour the Governor’s Mansion in downtown Jackson.

The post described the mansion as “one of Mississippi’s most historic buildings” and thanked a gracious tour guide for providing a memorable experience for the group, the post said.

The Governor’s Mansion serves as the official residence of Mississippi’s governor and is located in the state capital, where it often draws visitors interested in state history, architecture and civic life. Tours of such landmarks give early-career participants a chance to learn about government, local history and preservation practices.

Organized outings like this are common for internship programs seeking to broaden participants’ understanding of the communities they serve. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
