Railroad closes Stateline crossing for maintenance Wednesday
The railroad will close the Stateline Road crossing between Horn Lake Road and Highway 51 from 8 a.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for work, a Facebook post said.
Officials said the road will be closed except to local traffic and that no vehicles will be allowed to cross the tracks during the work. Detour signs will be posted at Stateline and Horn Lake Road to direct drivers around the closure.
The post also said that truck route enforcement in the area will be suspended only for the duration of the closure and that proper truck routes will resume immediately when the roadway reopens.
Railroad crossings are often closed temporarily for maintenance or repairs to protect workers and motorists and to ensure the continued safe operation of trains. Such closures can affect commute times, delivery routes and emergency response travel in the immediate area.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
