Greenville police arrested a man early May 16 after investigating a domestic-related shooting, the Greenville Police Department said. Officers responded about 12:40 a.m. to the 1400 block of Highway 1 South for a reported shooting linked to a domestic dispute, police said.

While officers were en route, they were told the suspect had returned to the scene in a black Chevrolet Impala. Officers located the vehicle and detained four people without incident, police said. Investigators recovered multiple firearms from inside the car, including handguns and a rifle, which were secured as evidence.

Police said the incident began near the Express Inn on U.S. 82 East after an altercation between the suspect and the victim. Investigators said that following a vehicle collision the suspect allegedly followed the victim and fired multiple rounds into her vehicle, striking it at least once. No injuries were reported.

Based on witness statements, physical evidence and statements obtained during the investigation, officers arrested Dannarius Hartman and charged him with domestic aggravated assault, police said. The investigation remains active and additional charges or arrests are possible. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
