Police arrested two brothers after an armed robbery with a knife early Aug. 5 at Petrol Plus, 1105 Memorial Boulevard, authorities said.
Officers responded about 12:05 a.m. when the suspects had already fled the scene, the department said in a Facebook post. Investigators quickly identified Rickey Smith Jr. and his brother, James Smith, and the vehicle they were driving.
Officers and detectives went to Rickey Smith Jr.’s residence, and both men were arrested when they arrived, police said. Search warrants were executed on the residence and the vehicle as part of the investigation.
The case remains under investigation and more charges are pending, the department said, adding that the arrests were made within a couple of hours of the initial call. The department did not provide additional details in the post.
