Pike County sheriff attends McComb mayor inauguration
Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones, Chief Deputy Damian Gatlin and Pike County Sheriff’s Office public relations director Cornelia Gayden-Wilson attended the inauguration ceremony for Mayor Bruce Mullins and the newly sworn-in Board of Selectmen and Selectwomen of the City of McComb, the sheriff’s office said.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office extended congratulations to the new administration and said it looks forward to working with Mayor Mullins and the board “in the spirit of partnership, service, and public safety” as officials seek to build a stronger McComb and Pike County.
“I am eager to work with Mayor Mullins and his team. There’s so much we can do together to make Pike County a safer place to live,” Sheriff Jones said in a statement provided by the sheriff’s office public relations department.
The Board of Selectmen and Selectwomen serve as the city’s governing body and work with municipal and county agencies on local policy, public safety and community services. The sheriff’s office said the visit underscores local law enforcement’s intent to coordinate with newly elected leaders.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
