Pike County deputies help Dallas SWAT officer after vehicle trouble
Pike County Sheriff’s Office said it assisted a Dallas Police Department SWAT officer after he experienced vehicle trouble at the Magnolia exit while traveling through Pike County.
The Facebook post identified the officer as Officer Lang and said deputies helped get him back on the road safely. “Safe travels, Officer Lang, and thank you for your service,” Sheriff Bryant Wally Jones said in the post.
The post also singled out Major Lance Falvey of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office for stepping in to assist Officer Lang. The agency said the episode reflects the informal brotherhood and sisterhood among law enforcement that often leads officers and agencies to aid one another across jurisdictions.
Interagency assistance on roads and highways helps maintain safety for officers and the public and can foster cooperation among departments. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
