Pearl River sheriff’s office seeks public help to find man wanted for failing to register

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help locate Anthony Eugene Everett, who is wanted on a felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender, the office said. The sheriff’s office said Everett’s current case is his fourth failure-to-register offense and that he was convicted as a habitual offender on his third failure-to-register conviction in 2023.

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Registry notified the sheriff’s office on May 19, 2026, that Everett had been released from prison on May 3, 2026, but had not registered as required, the sheriff’s office said. State law requires sex offenders to register within 72 business hours of release from incarceration.

The registry lists Everett as “Absconded,” and the sheriff’s office said it has obtained a felony arrest warrant and entered him into the National Crime Information Center database. The office urged anyone with information on Everett’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers by downloading the P3 Tips app or by calling TIPS.

The sheriff’s office said callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward if information submitted directly to Crime Stoppers leads to an arrest. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
