George County sheriff seeks public help locating wanted suspect
The George County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating Robert J. Callahan, who is wanted on a charge of felony motor vehicle taking, the office said Friday.
Officials said deputies attempted to stop Callahan on Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, after he was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle. Callahan exited the vehicle and fled on foot, the sheriff’s office said. The office identified Callahan as being from the Gulfport area.
The sheriff’s office urged anyone with information on Callahan’s whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers. Tips may be submitted through the P3 Tips mobile app or by calling TIPS. The office said information must be submitted through Crime Stoppers to qualify for a reward.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the sheriff’s office said. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details become available.
