Oxford campus closes Monday for extreme winter weather

The university’s Oxford campus will be closed Monday, Jan. 26, because of extreme winter weather, the institution said in an alert Friday.

The alert said the university will operate normally on Friday, Jan. 23, but all university events and activities are canceled beginning at 7 p.m. Friday. Officials directed members of the campus community to a full alert posted online for additional information: https://bit.ly/3ZqbDnU.

The closure affects students, faculty and staff who live, work or study on the Oxford campus. Campus closures typically suspend in-person classes, restrict access to campus facilities and cancel scheduled events; they also can disrupt transportation and local services for commuters and visitors.

University alerts for extreme weather aim to protect public safety and reduce travel risks when conditions deteriorate. Community members should monitor official university communications and local weather advisories for updates. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
