Office highlights Government Accountability Division interns

A state office highlighted its Government Accountability Division interns in a Facebook post, praising the students for their role in promoting transparency, accountability and efficiency in state government.

The post listed the interns pictured, from left to right: back row, Wyatt Eaton, DeMarco Riggins and Caleb Wood; front row, Alexandra Smith and Davis McQuirter. The office thanked the interns for their hard work, dedication and contributions during the summer.

Government accountability divisions typically evaluate state programs and policies to ensure public resources are used effectively and to identify opportunities for improvement. Internship programs in such offices give students hands-on experience with audits, program reviews and policy analysis and expose them to public service and government oversight work.

The office did not provide further details about the interns’ specific assignments or the duration of the program. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
