Ocean Springs reopens roadways after weather closures
All previously affected roadways in Ocean Springs have reopened and normal traffic patterns have resumed, the Ocean Springs Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The department said it appreciates residents’ patience and cooperation during the closures and urged motorists to continue using caution while traveling because some areas may still have residual water or debris from recent weather.
Ocean Springs is a coastal city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and its police department is responsible for traffic control, emergency response and public safety within city limits. Road closures after significant weather can affect commutes, delay emergency vehicles and increase the risk of accidents, which is why agencies often coordinate to clear hazards and restore normal traffic.
The police department’s update signals a return to routine travel for most drivers, but officials advise people to watch for lingering hazards and drive at safe speeds. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
