MS State Fire Academy celebrates Class 222 graduation
The Mississippi State Fire Academy congratulated Class 222 on its graduation in a Facebook post, saying Mississippi is safer because the graduates stepped forward to protect their communities, and thanking them for their service.
The academy, which provides training and professional development for firefighters and emergency responders across the state, offers courses intended to prepare recruits for the hazards they may face on the job.
Graduation from a state fire academy marks the completion of prescribed training and is a step toward joining local fire departments and other emergency response teams. Trained firefighters play a central role in public safety by responding to fires, accidents and other emergencies and by participating in fire prevention and community outreach.
Details about the ceremony, including the number of graduates and future assignments, were not included in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
