Mississippi DPS chaplain program receives First Responder Bible donation

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety’s Chaplain Program said in a Facebook post it received a donation of First Responder Bibles from Rock of Ages Ministries. The department said the chaplains will distribute the Bibles to first responders across Mississippi.

The post said the materials are intended to offer encouragement, hope and strength to people who serve communities every day. The donation follows ongoing efforts by chaplaincies nationwide to provide spiritual and emotional support to emergency personnel.

The Chaplain Program is part of the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and provides spiritual support and related resources to law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel and other first responders. Rock of Ages Ministries is identified in the post as the donor; the department thanked the organization for its generosity and support.

Support such as this can play a role in morale and resilience for first responders who frequently face stressful and traumatic situations. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
