Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers extends condolences after Forrest County investigator dies
Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers said in a Facebook post that the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office announced the death of Investigator Andretta English, who passed away early this morning after suffering injuries in a motorcycle accident on Saturday.
The post said trauma surgeons and medical staff made courageous efforts to save English, but were unsuccessful. English joined the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 26, 2024, serving first as a patrol deputy before being assigned earlier this year to the Investigations Division.
The post described English as having a passion for serving others, a strong work ethic and a determined spirit. Before joining the sheriff’s office, English worked for several years with AAA Ambulance Service as a paramedic, the post said.
Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers thanked the trauma surgeons, ICU nurses, physicians, Forrest General Hospital Police Department and law enforcement officers from across the region who offered support, and asked the public to keep English’s family, friends and colleagues in their thoughts. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
