Hinds County sheriff extends condolences after Muse’s passing
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree D. Jones on Facebook extended his deepest condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and students of Dr. Clyde Muse following Muse’s passing.
Jones said in the post that Muse’s death marks the end of an era for Hinds Community College and for the many communities Muse served through decades of commitment to education.
Jones said he had a few pleasant and meaningful conversations with Muse after the educator’s retirement during visits to Muse’s office in Raymond, and that those brief encounters left a lasting impression. Jones described Muse as speaking with the calm confidence of someone who had seen generations grow, learn and rise, and said Muse measured leadership by the people it empowered.
Jones asked that God bless Muse’s family and all who are grieving and said he hopes Muse’s lessons, the opportunities he created and the lives he touched will remain a testament to a life well lived.
