Long Beach Chief Billy Seal ends term as Mississippi chiefs association president
Long Beach Police Chief Billy Seal has concluded his service as president of the Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police, the Long Beach Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The department thanked Chief Billy Seal for his leadership, friendship and steady guidance throughout the year and during the legislative session, saying, “Well done, and great job!” in the post.
The Mississippi Association of Chiefs of Police is a statewide organization that represents law enforcement leaders and provides a forum for discussion of policy, training and public safety issues. The president typically helps set the group’s agenda, represents chiefs in meetings with lawmakers and advocates for priorities affecting communities and agencies across the state.
Having a municipal chief serve as the association’s president can raise a department’s profile and influence policy conversations that affect local policing and public safety funding. Details about Seal’s tenure, accomplishments while serving as president or his next steps were not provided. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
