Jones sentenced to 18 years on child exploitation
FARMINGTON, Miss. — Wilson Frederick Jones, 31, a former Corinth School District teacher, was sentenced to 18 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections on June 16, 2026, after entering guilty pleas to six counts of child exploitation, the district attorney’s office said.
Circuit Court Judge John R. White accepted the pleas in Alcorn County Circuit Court and also suspended an additional 102 years. The office said Jones must serve the 18-year sentence day for day because of the nature of the offenses and that the state term will run concurrent to a previous 60-month sentence Jones received in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi.
Assistant District Attorneys Kyle Robbins and Clay Cummings prosecuted the case on behalf of the state, the office said. The district attorney’s statement extended appreciation to the Corinth Police Department, including Chief Landon Tucker, Det. Bo Swindle and Det. Heather Russell, and acknowledged investigative work by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Mississippi.
Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, posted the information on behalf of the office. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
