Jones sentenced to 18 years for child exploitation
In Alcorn County Circuit Court on June 16, 2026, Wilson Frederick Jones, 31, a former Corinth School District teacher, pleaded guilty to six counts of child exploitation and was sentenced, the District Attorney’s office said.
Alcorn County Circuit Judge John R. White ordered Jones to serve 18 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections and suspended an additional 102 years, the office said. Because of the nature of the offenses, Jones must serve the 18-year term day for day.
The sentence will run concurrent to a previous 60-month federal sentence entered in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi, the DA said. Assistant District Attorneys Kyle Robbins and Clay Cummings prosecuted the case on behalf of the state.
District Attorney Jason D. Herring said in a Facebook post that he and his office appreciate the work of the Corinth Police Department, specifically Chief Landon Tucker, Detective Bo Swindle and Detective Heather Russell. Herring also acknowledged assistance from federal authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Mississippi.
The DA’s post did not provide further details about alleged victims or the investigation. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
