Jeremy Wright faces charges in June 3 shooting that killed Clarinda Turpin

Jeremy Nathan Wright has been formally charged in connection with the June 3, 2026, domestic-related shooting that resulted in the death of Clarinda Turpin, authorities announced.

Wright has been charged with first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Judge Angela Carpenter set Wright’s bond at $5,000,000, court records show.

The Vicksburg Police Department said it remains committed to seeking justice for victims and holding violent offenders accountable. Vicksburg police have handled a range of violent-crime investigations and often work with local prosecutors as cases move through the court system.

First-degree murder is generally the most serious homicide charge and domestic-related shootings draw heightened concern from law enforcement and community leaders because of their potential to escalate and cause broader harm.
