Jackson police extend Quick Response Team through Oct. 1

Jackson Police Department Chief Rashall Brackney said the department’s Quick Response Team, which was expected to end this month, will continue operations through Oct. 1.

The department posted the announcement on its official Facebook page, saying the unit’s activity will be extended. The social media post did not include additional details about the reasons for the extension or specific operational plans.

Quick response teams are specialized police units that typically handle rapid deployments to incidents, support investigations and conduct targeted enforcement aimed at improving public safety. Many municipal police departments rely on such units temporarily to address spikes in crime or to support ongoing investigations.
