Booneville police extend condolences to family of Deputy Michael Jimerson

The Booneville Police Department said on its Facebook page that it extends condolences to the family and friends of Deputy Michael Jimerson and to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

The department posted, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time,” offering solidarity with colleagues in the county agency. The message did not include further details about the circumstances prompting the statement.

Booneville Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency responsible for public safety in its jurisdiction, while a sheriff’s department typically handles countywide policing, jail operations and court security. Expressions of support between agencies are common when an officer or deputy faces hardship, as they demonstrate interagency cooperation and community concern.

Officials have not released additional information. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
