Jackson police post photos from listening tour at Stronger Hope Church

The Jackson Police Department posted photos Thursday evening from a stop on its Listening Tour at Stronger Hope Church on Beasley Road.

The Facebook post identified the gathering as part of the department’s Listening Tour and included photographs from the event. The post did not include additional details about attendance or discussion topics.

Police listening tours are a form of community outreach used by law enforcement agencies to hear residents’ concerns, explain public safety priorities and build relationships with neighborhood members. Such events typically provide a forum for residents to raise issues directly with officers and for departments to gather input on policing and safety needs.

The Jackson Police Department’s Facebook post is the latest example of local law enforcement using social media to share outreach activity with the public. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
