Hinds County Sheriff’s Office celebrates Citizens Academy graduates
Hinds County Sheriff’s Office celebrated the newest graduates of its second 2026 Citizens Academy last night, the department said in a Facebook post.
The post said the graduates are a group of community members who dedicated time to learning about public safety, the sheriff’s office operations and the work the department carries out in Hinds County, Mississippi.
The sheriff’s office extended a special thank-you to Pastor Crisler and Belmont M.B. Church for hosting this year’s academy, saying the support, hospitality and partnership help strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community it serves.
Citizens academies are commonly used by police and sheriff’s offices to familiarize residents with procedures, training and community programs, and to build trust between agencies and the public. The sheriff’s office thanked everyone who participated and said it looks forward to continuing the work. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
