Hinds County Sheriff accepting applications for Citizens Academy
Hinds County Sheriff’s Office is still accepting applications for its Citizens Academy, the agency said in a Facebook post. The post encouraged residents to sign up for the program and said instructions for applying were included below the message.
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for Hinds County, Mississippi, which includes the state capital, Jackson. The office often conducts community outreach and public education programs to strengthen ties with residents.
Citizens academies typically give residents an inside look at law enforcement operations, community policing strategies and departmental resources, providing opportunities for dialogue between officers and the public. Such programs aim to increase transparency, build trust and improve community safety.
The sheriff’s office did not include specific dates or a deadline in the post available on Facebook. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
