Hattiesburg Police honor employees at annual awards day
Hattiesburg Police Department honored officers and civilian staff during its annual Employee Appreciation & Awards Day last week, the department said in a Facebook post.
The department presented three special awards to recognize outstanding service: Officer of the Year went to Officer Calder Mikell, Civilian Employee of the Year to Kirkland West and Telecommunicator of the Year to Victoria Hunt, the post said.
Officials also recognized years of service by members of the department, acknowledging the contributions of men and women who serve the City of Hattiesburg. The Hattiesburg Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and conducts policing, investigations and community programs for the city, the department said.
The department extended appreciation to the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office and the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office for providing coverage and support during the awards event, the post said. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
