Hancock County seeks ID on Tahoe in Port Bienville trailer theft
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help identify a white 1999–2004 Chevrolet Tahoe that investigators believe was used to tow a stolen trailer from Port Bienville on July 9 at about 12:30 a.m., the office said in a post shared by Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers on Facebook.
Authorities say the stolen trailer is a black Diamond C dump trailer that contained a pipeline pulling head, a pipeline reamer and assorted construction equipment, the post said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by downloading the P3 Tips app or by calling TIPS, the post said. The post also said that to be eligible for a reward, information must be submitted directly through Crime Stoppers and that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Crime Stoppers is a community-based program that collects anonymous tips for law enforcement. Theft of construction equipment can result in significant financial losses and disrupt local projects, officials say.
