Vicksburg police investigate infant death at Bienville Apartments

VICKSBURG, Miss. — The Vicksburg Police Department said Thursday it is investigating the death of an infant after officers responded to the Bienville Apartments at 4225 I-20 Frontage Road around 3:15 p.m. on June 25, 2026.

The department posted the notice as a news release on its Facebook page and said the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death remain under investigation. The department said no additional information is available for release at this time.

The Vicksburg Police Department is the primary local law enforcement agency for the city of Vicksburg. Investigations of infant deaths typically involve detectives working with the coroner or medical examiner and other specialists to determine cause and manner of death, although the department has not detailed investigative steps in this case.
