The post says the roadway is just one of many in south Mississippi impacted by recent heavy rain and high water. The Mississippi Highway Patrol, the state agency responsible for traffic safety and incident response on state highways, commonly implements contraflow or temporary traffic controls during major roadway disruptions to help manage travel and emergency access.
The Facebook reel urges motorists who do not need to travel to stay home, to remain weather aware and to never drive through flooded roads. Flooded roadways can conceal hazards such as stalled vehicles, washed-out pavement and strong currents that make driving unsafe, authorities and safety groups warn.
