FEMA offers Individual Assistance to five Mississippi counties
Mississippi Emergency Management Agency announced that FEMA Individual Assistance is available to residents of Franklin, Lamar, Lawrence, Lincoln and Wilkinson counties who were affected by severe storms on May 6–7, 2026.
Officials said survivors can apply three ways: online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by phone at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or through the free FEMA app. Applicants should use Disaster Number DR-4922 when applying and can find more information at msema.org.
FEMA’s Individual Assistance program provides financial help and direct services to individuals and households after disasters. That assistance can help with temporary housing, home repairs and other disaster-related needs, though eligibility and the scope of aid depend on damage assessments and application review.
The availability of Individual Assistance can speed recovery for affected residents by providing access to federal resources and information on next steps. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
