FEMA is offering Individual Assistance to residents of five Mississippi counties affected by severe storms May 6–7, 2026, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said in a Facebook post. The counties named were Franklin, Lamar, Lawrence, Lincoln and Wilkinson.
Disaster Service Centers are open for anyone who needs in-person help filling out an application, the agency said. Applicants who cannot visit a center may apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by phone at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or through the free FEMA mobile app.
Applicants should use disaster number DR-4922 when applying, and the agency directed people to msema.org for additional information. FEMA’s Individual Assistance program generally helps individuals and households access resources after disasters, including help with housing and other disaster-related needs.
The announcement aims to connect storm survivors with federal support quickly and reduce barriers to applying for aid. Officials did not provide additional details in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
