Disaster Preparedness Day comes to Meridian

Disaster Preparedness Day, a community event focused on storm and emergency readiness, will be held Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Lowe’s Meridian, 100 15th Place South in Meridian, Mississippi.

Organizers said in a Facebook post that attendees can learn how to prepare for storms and other emergencies and connect with local preparedness resources. The post invited residents to visit the Lowe’s location that day to speak with representatives and resource providers.

Community preparedness events like this aim to help residents develop emergency plans, assemble basic supply kits and learn how to stay informed during severe weather. Public education and local resource connections can improve safety and reduce confusion when emergencies occur.

Lowe’s, a national home improvement retailer, and local agencies commonly host community outreach events to share safety information and resources with residents. Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
