IUKA, Miss. — Randy Barrett Kelly, 38, was sentenced Aug. 24, 2026, to a 30-year day-for-day term after Circuit Court Judge Kelly Mims imposed the maximum 40-year sentence for second-degree murder with 10 years suspended, the district attorney’s office said.
Kelly entered a guilty plea Aug. 18 to the killing of Robert Andrew Huddleston Jr., and the sentencing was deferred until Monday, the office said. Three members of Huddleston’s family testified at the hearing before Kelly addressed the court, and Judge Mims promptly ordered incarceration.
The Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case, led by investigator Adam Kostelansky, and Assistant District Attorney Clay Cummings prosecuted on behalf of the state, the press release said.
Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, commended the investigators and the sheriff’s office and said the resolution brings closure and justice to the Huddleston family, the release said. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
