This morning at approximately 8:53 a.m., deputies with the Yazoo County Sheriffs Office responded to the boat ramp on the Big Black River off Highway 49 in Yazoo County, Mississippi, after receiving a report of an unresponsive person, the sheriffs office said.
At the scene, deputies discovered a deceased white man who appeared to have sustained a single gunshot wound, the office said. Officials did not release the mans identity.
Sheriff Jeremy “Bull” McCoy and the Yazoo County Sheriffs Office said the investigation is active and ongoing. They said no further information can be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the probe.
The sheriffs office asked the public to keep the deceaseds family and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers and encouraged anyone with information to contact the Yazoo County Sheriffs Office. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
