CrimeStoppers tip line temporarily down; app accepts tips

CrimeStoppers of North East Mississippi said its tip line, 1-800-773-8477, is temporarily down due to technical issues and staff are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

The organization said anonymous tips can still be submitted through the P3 Tips app while the phone line is offline. The notice appeared on CrimeStoppers of North East Mississippi’s Facebook page.

CrimeStoppers programs provide a way for community members to report information to law enforcement without revealing their identities, which can help investigators solve crimes and improve public safety. Local CrimeStoppers groups typically work with police agencies and offer channels such as phone lines and mobile apps to collect tips.

Officials thanked the public for patience and asked anyone with information to use the P3 Tips app or send a message to the organization’s Facebook page to learn more. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
