Corinth police transition phone system; nonemergency lines offline

The Corinth Police Department said in a Facebook post it will experience a temporary disruption to its phone lines as it transitions to a new phone system today. During the interruption, the department said its nonemergency phone lines will be unavailable.

The department asked residents to call 911 for all emergencies and for nonemergency matters until the upgrade is complete. The post included an apology for the inconvenience and thanked the community for patience and support.

Municipal police departments routinely update communications systems to improve reliability and service. Such upgrades can temporarily affect the publics ability to reach nonemergency services, which can delay reporting of nonurgent concerns or requests for routine assistance.

Residents who need immediate help should call 911. Those with nonurgent needs may consider checking the departments official social media channels or visiting the police station in person if appropriate for alternative ways to contact the department.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
