Organizers are inviting residents to “Power Up Your Community” at this year’s National Night Out, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Crosby Commons from 5 to 7 p.m., a Facebook announcement said.
The post said the event will celebrate people, organizations and partnerships that support the community. Vendors will include public safety representatives, local businesses, schools, nonprofits and community groups, each offering a unique “Power-Up” through interactive activities, demonstrations and family-friendly programming.
National Night Out is a nationwide community-building campaign founded in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Local observances vary, and communities often tailor activities to highlight resources and strengthen local ties.
Organizers say the Crosby Commons event offers a chance for residents to learn about safety resources, meet local service providers and participate in activities designed for families. Such gatherings aim to improve communication between residents and institutions that serve them.
