Cedar Lake Bridge reopens after work rescheduled
Cedar Lake Bridge is open to traffic after the City of Biloxi said work to install a new turntable motor has been rescheduled for Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a city post on Facebook.
The city had earlier warned that the bridge would be closed “today” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. while crews installed the motor. The updated notice said the closure was moved to Wednesday, and traffic is currently allowed to cross the bridge.
The City of Biloxi manages local transportation infrastructure and posts urgent notices to inform residents and motorists about temporary closures and maintenance. Replacing a turntable motor is part of maintaining a bridge mechanism that allows portions of the structure to move to accommodate operations, and scheduling work during limited hours can reduce disruptions for commuters and nearby businesses.
Officials did not provide additional details about the work schedule or the expected duration beyond the rescheduled window. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
