Capitol Police join Junior League resiliency project at Methodist Children’s Home

Capitol Police thanked the Junior League of Jackson for inviting them to take part in a “Resiliency” project at Methodist Children’s Home, the department said in a Facebook post. Officers said they enjoyed connecting with students, describing their duties and offering safety tips to help young people stay aware and confident.

The Junior League of Jackson is a local chapter of a national volunteer organization that partners with community groups on education, health and child welfare projects. Methodist Children’s Home is a residential care provider that serves children and families through housing, counseling and support services.

Community outreach by law enforcement is intended to build trust, teach safety practices and support resilience among youth who may face social or personal challenges. Officials say such interactions can help children better understand public safety roles and feel more secure in daily situations.

Details about the event beyond the department’s social media post were not released. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
