Cadet Class 70 prepares to graduate in eight days

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says Cadet Class 70 will graduate in eight days, marking the near completion of the unit’s latest training cycle, the agency said in a Facebook reel.

The patrol’s post said the cadets have earned the milestone and that both instructors and trainees are ready. The agency did not provide additional details about the ceremony or the size of the class in the post.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is the state law enforcement agency responsible for traffic enforcement and public safety on state highways. Cadet training programs for state patrol agencies generally combine classroom instruction, physical conditioning and practical field exercises to prepare recruits for duties such as traffic enforcement, crash investigation and public assistance.

Graduation of a cadet class typically means new troopers will soon join patrol duties, which can affect staffing levels and response capacity across the state. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
