Businesses provide food to dispatchers during Telecommunicator Appreciation Week
Shipleys Donuts, Crumbl Cookie and Little Caesar’s provided food to emergency dispatchers during Emergency Telecommunicator’s Appreciation Week, a Facebook post said. The post thanked the businesses for supporting dispatch staff “today” as part of the appreciation observance.
Emergency telecommunicators, often called dispatchers, handle incoming 911 calls, collect critical information and coordinate police, fire and medical responses. Their work is a core component of public safety operations and often occurs behind the scenes.
Community gestures such as donated meals aim to recognize the stressful, around-the-clock nature of dispatch work and boost morale among staff who manage emergencies for residents. Local businesses frequently partner with public safety agencies during recognition events to show support for frontline workers.
Emergency Telecommunicator’s Appreciation Week is an observance intended to honor the contributions of public safety communications personnel. The Facebook post served as a public acknowledgment of the businesses’ support and the role dispatchers play in emergency response.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
