Bluecutt Road closes for repairs

Bluecutt Road will be closed today from Military Road to 7th Street for road repairs, with work expected from 9 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m., a social media post said.

The post, shared on Facebook, urged motorists to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time in the area. Officials said crews will be on site to improve roadway conditions and asked drivers for patience and cooperation while work is underway.

Short-term closures for pavement repair, resurfacing or utility work are common tools used by local public works and transportation departments to maintain safe travel. Such repairs can reduce the risk of vehicle damage and crashes, extend the life of roadways and improve drainage and ride quality for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

Motorists should watch for detour signage and slow down in work zones to protect crews. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
