USDA MyPlate recommends variety across five food groups

The USDA’s MyPlate recommends including a variety of foods from five food groups: fruits, vegetables, grains, protein and dairy.

Choosing foods from each group can help provide the nutrients the body needs to support overall health and well-being. The guidance adds that small choices can contribute to a healthier plate.

More information about building balanced meals is available at MyPlate.gov.
