MSDH shares food safety reminders for National Food Safety Education Month

The Mississippi State Department of Health is sharing food safety reminders during National Food Safety Education Month, including refrigerating perishable foods within two hours to help reduce the risk of foodborne illness.

The department advises people to refrigerate leftovers promptly, store food in shallow, covered containers and keep refrigerators at 40°F or below. It also recommends throwing food out when there is doubt about its safety.
