UMMC AirCare launches first fixed-wing aircraft for Mississippi patient transports

UMMC AirCare is expanding its reach across Mississippi with the launch of AirCare 5, the program’s first fixed-wing aircraft, according to the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The Pilatus PC-12 provides another option for transporting patients who need specialized care over longer distances or when helicopter transport is not the most practical choice. The aircraft can help patients at rural and community hospitals reach trauma, stroke, transplant, neonatal, burn and cardiac care more efficiently, UMMC said.
