September marks National Recovery Month
September is National Recovery Month, a time to celebrate people recovering from mental and substance use disorders, recognize the professionals who support them and promote evidence-based practices that help make recovery possible, according to the Mississippi State Department of Health.
The observance also recognizes families, treatment providers and communities helping people build healthier futures. Recovery looks different for everyone, but no one has to walk the journey alone, the department said.
