NEMCC marks Suicide Prevention Month with support resources
Northeast Mississippi Community College is observing September’s Suicide Prevention Month by encouraging hope, connection and awareness that support is available.
The college invited people to participate in World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10 by wearing teal, described as a symbol of hope, awareness and a commitment to supporting one another.
People who need support, or who know someone who does, can call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. NEMCC Counseling Services appointments can be made through the Penji app.
The college also encouraged efforts to create a community where everyone feels seen, supported and cared for.
