The Oxford MS Police Department marked National 988 Day of Action by encouraging people who are struggling to call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
The department said the service provides someone to listen, offer support and help people through the moment. It also urged people to share the message with anyone who may need it, saying a repost could put the lifeline in front of someone when it is needed most.
The message added that people are not alone and that help is available.
