National Weather Service highlights ongoing Memphis heat wave
The US National Weather Service in Memphis said an ongoing heat wave is evident in a 2026 daily temperature graph for Memphis, where observed temperatures have continued to trend upward even as the normal temperature range began cooling around mid-August.
The agency said Memphis has gone more than a month without recording a below-normal daily high temperature. Its Climate website also includes graphs for Jonesboro, Jackson, Tupelo and other locations, offering additional data on current temperatures. The agency directed readers to the climate graph for more information and highlighted 1980 as another year to examine.
