Mississippi hosts webinar on rural health funding
Mississippi’s Rural Health Transformation Program is hosting a webinar at 2 p.m. today to preview funding opportunities aimed at strengthening health care in rural communities, organizers said in a Facebook post.
The post said the first three grant opportunities will support projects that address rural health care gaps through capital investments, expand telehealth access and capabilities, and strengthen health care technology and infrastructure.
Organizers said the state will begin sharing detailed information on June 1, including eligibility, funding priorities and application requirements. Applications will open June 15 and close July 15, the post said. Applications are expected to be reviewed through the end of July and awards released in August.
The program seeks to help rural hospitals and clinics overcome long-standing challenges such as limited access to specialty care and aging facilities, and to accelerate adoption of telehealth and modern technology, which have become more central to care delivery in recent years.
Interested organizations can register for the June 1 webinar and sign up for updates at MississippiRHTP.com, the post said. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
